Viair Air Compressors

Providing Viair Air Compressor Reviews

Known worldwide for manufacturing high quality and heavy-duty air compressors, VIAIR air compressors and air accessories are ideal for both the on and off-road applications.

This company has over the years gained global reputation of becoming an industry standard for both 12- and 24-volt automotive applications.

Undoubtedly, the growth and popularity of the products can be contributed to the high-performance and complete reliability of VIAIR air compressors and its accessories.

The different models of air compressors are broadly classified under five series: 90, 100, 200, 300 and 400.

90 Series

90C - The 90C air compressor features permanent magnetic motor, 12-volt, duty cycle of 9% at 100 PSI, maximum working pressure of 120 PSI, inline check valve and amp draw of 10 Amps.

92C – This has most features of 90C such as 12-volt, permanent magnetic motor, amp draw of 10 mps, maximum working pressure of 120 PSI and it even includes an additional feature of inlet filter assembly.

95C – Similar to the above two models, this air compressor includes all the important features such as 12-volt, permanent magnetic motor, amp draw of 10 amps and a maximum working pressure of 120PSI.

97C and 98C Air Compressors – These two models stand apart from the other models in terms of being moisture and dust resistant. Other common features include a maximum working pressure of 130 PSI, inline check valve, amp draw of 12Amps and a duty cycle of 10% at 100 PSI. The 98C model comes with an omega style bracket.

100 series

100C – The standard 100C model is moisture and dust resistance thereby offering increased durability and longevity. It features an oil-less design and the gearless direct drive motor comes equipped with high performance PTFE piston ring and stainless steel valves.

100C With Omega Bracket – This model has the added advantage of being equipped with a stylish chrome finish omega-mounting bracket. Instead of a leader hose, it includes an inline check valve.

200 series

275C – This particular model has a 12-volt permanent magnetic motor with an 18amp draw. It should be used either with an air tank which has a lower pressure, non-adjustable pressure switch or it should be 150psi.

280C - This model also requires an air tank with lower non-adjustable pressure switch or a reserve with a 150psi. The difference lies in the duty cycle, as it has a 30% duty cycle at 100 PSI and with a 16amp draw.

300 series

325C and 330C – Both the models of Viair air compressors are known for their low amp draw, sturdiness and longevity. While 330C boasts a low amp draw of 12, the 325C is not far behind with an amp draw of 19.

Both the models require a 150PSI or lower pressure non-adjustable pressure switch.

The 325C is also available in 24-volt and it uses a low draw of 10 amps. Besides running on 24 volts, all the other features remain the same.

350C – This model is not only sturdy but is also known for being versatile and hence is ideal for mobile pneumatic applications. It comes with a stainless steel leader hose and to function requires 150PSI or lower pressure and non-adjustable pressure switch.

380C – This is a 12-volt permanent magnetic motor and has the capability to fill a 5-gallon tank from 165psi to 20psi continuously in about 3.5 minutes. The only difference being, unlike other models, this requires a 200psi or low pressure, non-adjustable pressure switch when used with an air tank to function.

VIAIR air compressors - 400 Series

400C and 420C – Both the models of Viair air compressors are 33% duty cycle compressors and are known for their quick and efficient functioning. Both include stainless steel braided leader hose and should be used on 150psi.

460C and 480C – Both the models feature horizontal cooling fins and a trapezoidal head design. 150psi is a must and both have an amp draw of 19amps.

490C and 492C – These also feature horizontal cooling fins, but what makes them different from the above models is the duty cycle of 40% @ 100 psi and an amp draw of 40 amps. While 490C requires 200psi, 492C uses 150psi.

495C and 497C – Both the models are 12-volt permanent magnetic motor and include horizontal cooling fins and a trapezoidal head design. The duty cycle for both the models is 100% @ 100 psi. The difference between both the models is in the measure unit, as 497C required 150 psi to function while 495 uses 175 psi.
