Atlas Copco Air Compressors

Atlas Copco air compressors are a significant part of Atlas Copco Group, which was founded in 1873 and is the leading manufacturer of industrial products in more than 20 countries.

The compressor division primarily deals in developing, manufacturing, marketing and after-sale service of oil-free and oil-injected stationary air compressors and portable air compressors.

Portable Air Compressors

The various models under portable air compressors are covered under the following three categories:

Below 500cfm (100 - 204psig): This category includes models that have a psi from 100 to 204. Most of them are based on oil-injected rotary screw technology and some of the series are: XAS 185 JD7 (HardHatTM & Steel); XA(T)S 375 JD6; XAS 185 JDU6; XAHS 250-300 DD7; XA(T,H)S 70-185 KD7/DD7 HardHat

Above 500cfm (100 to 204 psig) – While the above category catered to a lower cfm compressor, this category is about air compressors that are above 500cfm.

Under this category Atlas air compressors have about 4 models and all of them are oil-injected rotary screw compressors. With a capacity of up to 750cfm, XA (M)(H) S 500 – 750 CD6 is the first model.

This is followed by XA (M,T,H,V) 500-850 CD7 with a capacity up to 848 cfm and model no XA (M,T,H,V) 830-1150 CD6 that has capacity ranging between 805 – 1127 cfm. The last model in the category is XAS 1600 CD6 that has a capacity between 1370 and 1589cfm.

Above 500 cfm – (above 204 psig) – This category also has about 4 models with varying capacities. All of them are based on oil-injected rotary screw technology. With a capacity between 695 to 1059cfm, XR (H,V)S 700-1100 CD6 is the first model in this category followed by XR(V,X)S 1200-1250 CD6 that has a capacity of 1200 to 1273 cfm.

The third in the list is Twinair XAH 2250 & XRV 2000 with a capacity of 197 to 2232 cfm and the last one is DrillAir XR(V,X,)S 1240-1350 CD7 which has multiple varying capacities.

Stationary Compressors

The range of stationary air compressors are broadly classified under lubricated compressors, oil free compressors, PET compressors and centrifugal air compressors.

Lubricated Compressors: This contains almost 15 different models of lubricated Atlas air compressors. The KT series include horizontal or vertical tank mounted, packaged horizontal or vertical tank mounted, duplex horizontal tank mounted, gas driven tank mounted and block compressor.

Other lubricated compressor models include LE/LT 2-20; GX 2-11; GN 4-18; GAR 5-37; GA 5-11; GA 5-11 VSD; GA 15-22; GA 11+ -30; GA 15-30 VSD; GA 30+-90 GA37- 90VSD; GA 200-500 and GA 90+ -160+ / GA 132-160 VSD.

Oil Free Compressors: The oil free Atlas air compressors contain 12 different models supporting different technologies. LFx 0.7-2.0 and LF 2-10 are oil-free industrial piston compressors.

LFx MED 0.7-2.0 is oil-free dental and medical piston compressor while ZT15-22, ZT/ZR 30-45, ZR/ZT 22-37-55 VSD is oil-free rotary tooth compressor.

SF 1-15 and SFR 4-8 are oil-free scroll compressors, while AQ 30-55/ AQ 37-55 VSD is oil-free water injected rotary screw compressor.

ZR/ZT55-90 and ZR/ZT90 VSD and ZT/ZR 110-750 & ZR 132-900 VSD are air or water-cooled rotary screw compressors.

ZB VSD is based on oil free turbo compressor while HX/HN is an oil-free reciprocating compressor.

PET Compressors

This contains primarily two models of Atlas Copco air compressors – the P series and ZD 1200 - 4000 & VSD.

The P series are reciprocating compressors and available in the outlet nominal pressure of 40 bar which is ideal for PET blow moulding applications.

The P series compressor is also available in an outlet nominal pressure between 15 to 40 bar and this is ideal industrial oil-free applications.

The other model under PET compressors is ZD 1200 - 4000 & VSD, which is a combination of the ZR screw compressor with MD dryer and a reciprocating D-booster.

Centrifugal Air Compressor

Under centrifugal Atlas Copco air compressors, model no ZH 4000-ZH 26000, which is based on water-cooled centrifugal is the most advanced series of Atlas Copco air compressors available in the industry. It not only exceeds technical expectations but also offers the advantage of low installation, operating and maintenance costs.
